Convicted months ago in federal court of perjury and obstruction of justice, former Cheney chief of staff Lewis “Scooter” Libby didn’t actually have to go to jail. He’s been free until his appeal today, supposedly his last chance to avoid prison.

Via EXPTA, Americans are doing better than I expected:
A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles per year. Another study found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer per year. That means, on average, Americans get 41 miles per gallon.
Emissions were not part of the study.
