The far Right, fearing Barack Obama’s rock-star status, has bent its will to smearing the freshman senator in any nonsensical way possible. Playing upon our ignorance and bigotry, they’ve practically wet themselves pointing out that his middle name is “Hussein,” and that his last name rhymes with you-know-whose. Karen Russell collects the most recent swill:
It didn’t take long for the Republican spin machine to play the race card and the blame game. Obviously they can’t use the “N Word” against Obama, so they start with the “M Word” and blame Hillary in the process. Just wait, it won’t take them long to accuse Obama of “using the race card” and then crediting Clinton with the attack….
Turns out, for instance, that he wasn’t actually trained as a suicide bomber. However, such a ridiculous tale was never intended to stick. Obviously, it was meant to hurt, and some actual damage may have been done.
